Gallery: Ellenabeich and Easdale

Ellenabeich has a pub offering everyday pub meals, a local heritage museum and an eccentric souvenir shop.

When you sail from Ellenabeich to the small Easdale island, you do it in a small ferry:

Arriving at Easdale, you are faced with the local wheelbarrow park. There are no cars or motorised vehicles on the island, so if you have anything heavy to carry from the ferry, this is where you leave your transport:

There are no roads on the island and therefore no pavements:

All round the island, which only takes half an hour or so to cross, there are reminders of when the white cottages were used by slate miners:

And there are also some great views and quiet places to sit and take a break:
